Okay.. Answering a comment I got a few days ago. Rio.. How to?
I know Rio looks confusing. And honestly there’s still a lot of stuff I don't understand myself. So here’s my own little cheat sheet for you when it comes to Rio.
Let’s work on supply basics. The one thing you will need is sheet metal. Sterling silver. Depending on what type of project you want to work on, will depend on gauge. Remember, smaller number = thicker material.
I ALWAYS get a 12” by 3” sheet of 22 gauge sterling silver. I buy one of these almost weekly. I prefer not to over buy so I buy as I need. Heres what you can copy and paste! Sterling Silver 12” Sheet, 22-Ga., 1/2-Hard, Brushed Finish
Next is Bezel Wire. Bezel wire is really dependent on what you need for your stones. I will give you guys the 2 sizes I personally use the most. Again, it’s really based on the size stones you acquire. Item Number For my “Thicker” stones I use 3/16" x .013" (4.78 x 0.33mm) & for my thinner stones I use 1/8" x.013" (3.18 x 0.33mm).
I typically use the same materials over and over again to be honest. It’s rare I buy new things I haven’t tried before. I will do an unboxing today with my order to show you all WITH item numbers!
It’s confusing but take your time and start slow. Silver is too expensive to waste!
